Unity tool / AI-ML Integration
Unity MCP
Let your AI agent work inside the Unity Editor.
- Version
- 1.0.1
- Released
- September 2026

1 / 9
A free package that installs AnkleBreaker's open-source MCP bridge in one click, so the AI assistant you already use can open prefabs, wire components, fix materials, run builds and read the errors back.
Everything runs on your machine: no account, no cloud, no telemetry.
Stop describing your scene to an AI. Unity MCP lets the assistant look for itself and do the work in the project you have open: add a health bar to the Player prefab, find out why a material is pink, rename every enemy in a scene, build for Windows and report the errors, list the prefabs with missing script references.
It reaches scenes and hierarchy, GameObjects and components, prefabs, materials and shaders, assets and packages, play mode, tests, builds and the console. It works with Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Kimi and any other client that speaks MCP.
The asset does not vendor the plugin. It adds com.anklebreaker.unity-mcp through the Package Manager, pinned to a published tag, so you can audit, update or remove it like any other package and a whole team resolves the same version. Nothing it ships reaches a player build.
What you get
One-click install
A setup window installs the plugin, then a Welcome window walks you through connecting your AI client and ticks off each step.
Any MCP client
The Documentation window carries the exact config block per client and per OS, with a copy button.
Private by design
No account, no cloud, no telemetry. The only network call reads the GitHub API for the latest release tag, cached for six hours.
Every action listed
The plugin keeps an Action History, so you always know what your assistant changed.
Several editors at once
The plugin takes a free port from 7890 to 7899 and both halves read a shared instance registry, so a second editor never clashes with the first.
Scriptable
Check the installed version, install a pinned or latest release and resolve the live bridge port from your own editor code.
Manual inside Unity
A searchable 16-page manual with buttons that do what they describe, and a quiet console notice when a new version ships.
